יליד ליטא. את דרכו באומנות התחיל מלימודיו בבית ספר למוזיקה בעיר קלאיפדה, בה נולד. יחד עם המוזיקה, ציור תמיד משך את תשומת ליבו, ובשנת 1975 לאוניד התחיל ללמוד בסטודיו לציור. בהתחלה, ברוב עבודותיו השתמש בטכניקות גראפיות שונות, אך כעבור כמה שנים,  עבר לציורי שמן. "בני האדם הם בסך הכול רכיב קטן אך חשוב במעגל התנועה הנצחי שבטבע".  זאת הפילוסופיה של האומן, וזה המסר המרכזי ברוב העבודות שלו.  "הנופים הדרמטיים למעשה נראים כמו תפאורה של המחזה הגדול של החיים, מחזה שבו  לאף אחד אין תפקיד משני. כל היצורים בכדור הארץ מאוד קרובים זה לזה, כולנו חלק בלתי נפרד של הטבע. לאף זן בעולם אין זכות להיעלם. האיזון הוא צורת ההשרדות היחידה בטבע , ואני תמיד שואף להגיע לאותו איזון ביצירה שלי."	Born in Lithuania. He found his way into the arts first at the music school in his Native city of Klaipeda. Besides music, he always had a strong interest in painting, and in 1975 Leonid started his studies in an art studio. In the beginning he used various  graphic techniques, but after a few years he started making oil paintings.  “Humanity is only a small, but important component in the eternal moving wheel of nature”, is his philosophy. This is the central theme in most of his works. "The dramatic scenes are in fact settings for the great drama of life, in which nobody plays a secondary role. All living creatures in this world are very close to each other, and all of us are an inseparable part of nature. No species of the Earth has the right to disappear. Balance is the only way of survival in nature. And I always strive to reach this balance in my creations."
